Moving inside Connecticut is not only boxes. A few agencies expect a new address quickly. This is the short list we give customers so moving day is not also a paperwork scramble.
CT DMV: 48 hours
If you hold a Connecticut driver’s license, non-driver ID, or vehicle registration, state rules require you to notify the DMV within 48 hours of a change of address (see portal.ct.gov/DMV). You can usually complete it online in a few minutes. It is free to update the record.
Your plastic license will still show the old address until you replace it. After the online change, get an address label (print one or pick one up at a CT police department) and put it on the back of the license. Cross out the old address on the registration and write the new one in the space provided.
A duplicate license with the new address printed on it is optional and has a fee — only needed if you want a new card.

Coming from another state
